Meet the Board

Ros Mickens


   Roslyn Mickens is a native of Washington, DC and spent many of her formative years in Northeast’s Trinidad neighborhood. She is an alumna of Towson University receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications and is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. In 1991, Ros (former CEO/COO) established Parascope Entertainment Inc. to help artists and other creatives reach their potential. She also has a history of advocacy, Ros worked with Trinidad Baptist Church in DC to help lobby Congress to impose sanctions on South Africa and to divest from companies who did business with the country, during the apartheid era. Additionally, Ros worked as an educator for several years in Prince George County Public Schools. As a volunteer, she would often help feed the hungry at local food pantries, efforts coordinated by her parents. She looks forward to continuing her advocacy work with the ADOS DMV
Region Chapter.

Aisha Muhammad

   Aisha Muhammad moved to Washington, D.C. four years ago to bring her 10+ years of experience in housing, public health, and policy development to the nation’s capital. Aisha developed her organizing, project management and health policy skills working in the HIV field in Harlem (NYC); and honed her administrative, strategic planning and leadership skills as a Shelter Director and Clinical Director at two homeless shelters in Brooklyn, NY. She holds a Master of Public Health degree specializing in Healthcare Policy & Administration and a BA in History with a focus on African American Studies. Since joining the ADOS DMV Region Chapter, Aisha has been intricately involved in its development from writing the initial curriculum for the political education division to spearheading the development of the Chapter’s bylaws. She’s currently the Chairperson of the Administration Division.

Kelly Matthews


   After working exclusively in the nonprofit arena for over 15 years, in 2007 Kelly
Matthews established Matthews Business Associate Services, LLC (MBA Services), a
full-service boutique accounting and bookkeeping firm located on Capitol Hill in
Washington, DC. ( As owner and principal, Mrs. Matthews
works directly with entrepreneurs, nonprofits and small businesses to provide a range of services impacting both their finances and operations. She holds a Master of Science in Administration from Central Michigan University, a BA in Communication from Seton Hill University, a BS in Accounting from New England College, and several certifications. With over 25 years of experience as a program director and finance/operations manager, Mrs. Matthews has built a career anchored in community service by working with nonprofits in both the communication and accounting industries. She's a proud native Washingtonian, Eastern High School Class of '88 alumna, who's happily married with two children and three grandchildren.

   Kasandra Carter is the Current Chair of Recruitment and Membership as well as Vice Chair of Call to Action for ADOS DMV Region. She has a demonstrated history of working in the government administration industry. Also, Kasandra has demonstrated skill in Public Speaking, Leadership, and Project Management for various student run organizations. Lastly, Kasandra is a recent graduate, and holds a Master of Public Administration degree focused on Public Policy and Management from Bowie State University.

Natalie Rozzell

   As a proud native Virginian, Natalie is dedicated to making Virginia ADOS life better and ensuring that her state and this country is held accountable for its role in chattel slavery and Jim Crow. Since attending the ADOS Conference in 2019, she was ready to transition from simply watching YouTube videos to actively fighting for reparations and a transformative Black agenda through consistent chapter work. Natalie has 20+ years of experience as an Information Technology (IT) professional, and for the last 11 years she's run an IT Lab for a government agency, managing a team of 6 engineers. She is also a small business owner, former US Army Reservist, and a filmmaker/photographer. Natalie currently serves as the ADOS DMV Region Communications Division Chair and is committed to growing the chapter and increasing ADOS political awareness and advocacy through visual aids, video projects, and media campaigns.
